The Hawick branch of Lindsay & Gilmour welcomed some very special visitors this month as a class of pupils from Drumlanrig Primary School popped in to the Oliver Place store to learn about how health care is delivered through their community pharmacy.
The Primary 4 pupils, along with their teacher Mrs Jennifer Willison, were treated to a special lesson in how medicines are dispensed on prescription, how the team prepare blister packs and even how medicines are made.
Pharmacy Manager Aneta Babol answered some great questions about what you need to do to work in a pharmacy and what the most popular medicines dispensed are.
Aneta said: “We were delighted to have the Drumlanrig Primary School visitors at our pharmacy and really enjoyed showing them around. Perhaps we may see some of the children pursuing a rewarding career in pharmacy a few years down the line!”
