THIS MONDAY 28th Jan – Fruit & Veg, Kelso Agricultural Discussion Society (KADS) at Cross Keys 7.30pm-9.30pm

At the third meeting of our winter programme, we will hear from two speakers who have added value to their meat and vegetable businesses:

Denise Walton, managing partner at Peelham farm in Berwickshire. Peelham is a 270ha organic farm with an on-farm butchery, smoker and charcuterie facility. They sell grass reared beef, veal, lamb, mutton and free range pork. Salamis, sausages, burgers, bacon and hams are also sold direct to customers.

Rob Stockwell, partner in a large scale 728ha fruit and vegetable business based at Barnsmuir, Fife. The Stockwell family grow broccoli, cauliflower, kale, spring greens and cabbages, as well as soft fruit and cereals. In recent years they have added renewable energy to their activities, using wind to produce electricity for the farm and biomass to heat polyhouses for early strawberry production.

We hope to see you there!
