BGT is a new two year community project led by Burnfoot Community Futures and is based at the Burnfoot Community Hub, Hawick. The project aims to address climate change by constructing a new community garden. Within this new space there will be community growing areas, an outside demonstration space, outdoor cooking area with pizza oven and lots more… The space will be fully accessible as we want to encourage as many people as possible to get involved. To help get the most from our newly created space we have a range of staff on hand to provide expert workshops. Our staff can share their knowledge of how to cook local and seasonal foods, how to reduce your food waste, as well as how to get started with growing your own food and other related topics which help to address climate change.
