Set in the historic County of Peebles, the Stobo Village Hall lies approximately 8 miles west of the county town. The village of Stobo is predominately of 19th century origin and straggles along the B712, off the A72. It is bounded on the north by the Meldon Hills and the village of Lyne, and to the south by the villages of Drumelzier and Broughton, the latter hosting the local Primary School.

Stobo Village Hall is positioned in the picturesque and protected Upper Tweeddale valley, and is accessible within 15 minutes from the local towns of Peebles and Biggar, and lies about an hour’s drive of Scotland’s capital city, Edinburgh to the north, and just over an hour from it’s larger counterpart, Glasgow, or Carlisle in England to the south.Indeed, just a wee walk along the River Tweed will bring you to one of the world’s finest arboreta, Dawyck Botanic Gardens and the nearby kirk is the most complete and impressive Romanesque parish church in the Scottish Borders.

Stobo’s Village Hall has hosted many events, including musical bands, ceilidhs, meetings, cycling stops and event stations, as well as being the local polling station for the parish.
